Poppi + Polaroids

Hey Reader,

Last week I asked you guys to send over your resource of the week, and @eleanorelainephoto understood the assignment. You're welcome.

The Messy Middle

I'm writing this next to our dining room table, which is chalk to the block full of props.

Books. Polaroid camera. Wine glasses & a variety of Poppi. Magnets. Stickers.

Anything and everything that is considered "on-brand" for The Breakroom, because...

Wednesday we're hosting our first ever Content Day for our members.

There are 7 (!!!) of them coming to Indianapolis for a fun day of content creation and community, and I cannot wait to give them all big bear hugs.

The shot list has been checked multiple times.

I need to do my press-on nails and write thank you cards.

We're heading over to the Airbnb in a couple of hours to check-in / drop things off, and then grab dinner with whoever's in town.

And I am giddy with excitement.

We're about to have so much fun.

You already know we shared about it on IG stories, so make sure you follow us on Instagram to see the behind-the-scenes. πŸ“ΈπŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ And we'll share more in next weeks email.

This Week on the Podcast

This week on @thesustainablecreator podcast, we interviewed Elisa of ZealCast Studios about how podcasting can both boost your authority AND make you sales (yes, please).

She shared how one of her clients brought in 5 new inquiries after one episode!! Of course we asked her for a case study, which you can hear when you tune in below.

We’ve all been there. You have a fantastic discovery call, you send over a custom proposal, and then... crickets. You've been ghosted. A few weeks later, you see they hired someone else β€” usually someone who just seemed to have a bit more visible "authority" in your industry.

It is a frustrating feeling, especially when you know you can deliver an incredible client experience. But as a busy solopreneur (perhaps one balancing a growing business while raising a family) the idea of getting on the short-form video treadmill to build that authority sounds exhausting. You don't have the hours to learn trending dances or churn out three reels a day just to satisfy an algorithm.

You need an alternative to Instagram marketing. You need a way to build deep trust, showcase your expertise, and find clients sustainably.

Enter podcasting.

Overheard in The Breakroom

Last week we launched a ✨new feature✨ in The Breakroom, our Accountability Huddle!

We've heard from multiple members that they would love to have some form of accountability as they work on their goals. So, we created a dedicated group chat where each week members drop in their priority for the week & the action they'll be taking.

At the end of the week, we "hold each other accountable" and share what progress we made! So far, it's been a hit.

Here's what we're up to in March:

  • Sales Psychology Masterclass so you can learn how to bring in more sales authentically and ethically
  • Reading Sell It Like Serhant for Business Book Club
  • Hosting PitchFest for you to practice pitching your offer
  • Money Co-working Date where you get to review your numbers in a safe space with other women who are reviewing their numbers, too.
  • Hot Seat Coaching to ask us (Jo & Lyndon) questions about your business (ie: marketing, sales process, offer structure, etc.)

(No monthly minimum required)

Resource of the Week

One thing about me is I am obsessed with luxury & unreasonable hospitality. The Four Seasons book by Isadore Sharp (the founder) is one of my favorite reads. If you want a playbook on going the extra mile and creating unforgettable client experiences, it’s the OG playbook.

Recently, we watched this video by Michelle Khare, where she worked/stayed at Hotel Sachre, one of the most prestige hotels that The who’s who’s stay at. Watching the experience they create for their guests, alongside the historical luxury aesthetic of the hotel really lit me up. I loved it.

Dropping it here for your viewing pleasure! 🎞️✨

Hey Reader, This week has been very confusing in the sense that I have no idea what day it is. Just me or you, too? All I know is we leave tomorrow to see family for the weekend and next week we get to see our Breakroom members in-person for our first ever Content Day (we're pumped). I can't wait to give them all big bear hugs!! Speaking of in-person... The Messy Middle We've known for a minute that we want to host more in-person events and this year finally feels like the right time. I have...

Hey Reader, We went to LA last weekend to spend time with my sister and it was just what my soul needed (check out our photo dump)! Now we're home and back-to-business, and boy do we have some fun things in the works. The Messy Middle We launched a podcast...in less than two weeks.πŸŽ™οΈβœ¨ A couple of weeks ago, Lyndon told me "I want to launch a podcast" To which I said, "Same." Then a week later he said, "I want to release the first episode next week." So off to the races we went. Lyndon started...

Hey Reader, The theme of today is...no longer doing it all yourself. We're talking about outsourcing. Let's get straight into it. The Messy Middle If you're like me, you like to do everything yourself. Scratch that, you WANT someone to step in and do things for you, but the thought of handing over control is just too much. Too risky. The thought of outsourcing or letting go of certain tasks or responsibilities probably feels like this: You'd rather just white-knuckle it and do it yourself....
