Hey Reader,
This week has been very confusing in the sense that I have no idea what day it is. Just me or you, too?
All I know is we leave tomorrow to see family for the weekend and next week we get to see our Breakroom members in-person for our first ever Content Day (we're pumped). I can't wait to give them all big bear hugs!!
Speaking of in-person...
The Messy Middle
We've known for a minute that we want to host more in-person events and this year finally feels like the right time.
I have this photo pinned on my 2026 vision board, and I think about it A LOT because it really captures the experience I want us to create for you. A room where you're surrounded by your peers, expanding your knowledge, making quality connections.
It's super exciting for me to think about, and (surprise to no one), we're officially in planning mode for our first event! 👀
In true market-research-fashion (IYKYK), we'd love to get your thoughts on a couple things before we go full-send on anything. Can you please fill out this form and give me your quick feedback on a couple things? I promise, it's quick!
YOU'RE AMAZING. THANK YOU!!
Now, onto the rest of the email.
This Week on the Podcast
This week on @thesustainablecreator podcast, we interviewed @yourworkwifeashley about her pivot from working in corporate to going full-time in entrepreneurship and it was so good!! 🔥👏🏼
She shared so many helpful tips & stories. It’s the pep talk you didn’t know you needed. You can tune in for the full convo below.

Most of us have felt the specific weight of the "Golden Handcuffs." You have the title, the steady paycheck, the benefits, and the routine. On paper, you have "made it." But in your gut, you know you are meant to be building something of your own.
The problem is that the leap from a structured 9-5 to the wild west of creative entrepreneurship feels massive. It’s not just about the logistics of setting up an LLC or finding clients; it is about the emotional and financial rewiring required to bet on yourself.
Overheard in The Breakroom
Lately, we've heard "I'm struggling with sales" from a lot of business owners, so here's what we're doing about it.
March is all about helping you make more money in your biz. 💵
Inside our membership, The Breakroom, we're going to focus on sales over the next few weeks so that you can bring in more leads & cashflow (yes, please)!
Here's what we're up to in March:
- Sales Psychology Masterclass so you can learn how to bring in more sales authentically and ethically
- Reading Sell It Like Serhant for Business Book Club
- Hosting PitchFest for you to practice pitching your offer
- Money Co-working Date where you get to review your numbers in a safe space with other women who are reviewing their numbers, too.
- Hot Seat Coaching to ask us (Jo & Lyndon) questions about your business (ie: marketing, sales process, offer structure, etc.)

Why "Sounding Smart" is Costing You Clients
It’s 2:00 PM. You’re standing in the school pick-up line, or maybe you are nursing a baby who refuses to nap. You have a lukewarm coffee in the cup holder and exactly four minutes of peace before chaos erupts again. You pull out your phone to look for a service provider, maybe a photographer or a web designer.
You land on a website. The photos are beautiful, but the text is… poetic. It talks about "elevated visual storytelling" and "authentic soul-aligned journeys."
You squint. You scroll. You sigh. And then you close the tab.
Why? Because you didn’t have the brainpower to decode it.
If this sounds familiar, you aren’t alone. This is the exact reality for most of your clients. They are tired, they are busy, and they are scrolling with one hand. Yet, as a Creative Entrepreneur, we often fall into the trap of writing copy that sounds impressive to our peers but is completely unintelligible to the people trying to pay us.
In our recent Breakroom peer mastermind, we dug deep into this issue. Perfectly summarized during the call as "Complexity makes you sound smart, but simple sells."
Here is why your "fancy" copy might be costing you clients, and how to fix it without losing your brand’s voice.
