Hi Reader,
Four months ago, Lyndon and I sat across from each other with a big problem.
In this particular moment, we had just gotten home from a funeral we didn't see coming. Not only were we experiencing the emotions that come with unexpected loss, we also had business problems. Multiple coaching clients had reached out saying they needed to pause their contracts because personal reasons. And while we completely understood that life happens, it was still tough to hear.
We were feeling all the feels. And we needed to do something about it.
We went back to a question we ask many of our coaching clients: where were our clients spending time?
"They spend a lot of time at coffee shops..." I started to say, "But, our clientele isn't local."
And then it hit me like a lightening strike:
"Coffee chats!!!" I blurted out.
Little did we know how much those two words would change our life.
Fast forward, and I'm sitting in a coffee shop feeling so far removed from that moment. Was it really only four months ago? It feels like a lifetime. Almost as if it never happened (almost).
The same week Lyndon and I had that conversation, we hosted our first coffee chat. And then we hosted another. And another. And another.
Within weeks, coffee chats snowballed into a more expanded space we called "The Breakroom". Weekly calls with multiple business owners who had things they wanted to talk about, and no one to talk about it with.
Planning for maternity leave.
Dealing with scope creep.
How to get leads when buyers' trust was so darn low.
After every call, Lyndon and I would turn to each other and go "whoa."
Because, this space was different.
The conversations flowed and we went deep on topics that business owners were craving. It felt safe. Everyone was so generous with their perspectives and knowledge. Resources and helpful links got dropped in the chat (in addition to the constant stream of encouragement as they hyped each other up). They began connecting with each other outside of the calls. Hopping on their own calls to take the conversations even further.
I could literally start crying at the thought of it.
(I'm not kidding, I definitely teared up on my drive over because, this space? I can't begin to explain how special it is.)
So...The Breakroom was born.
And in its creation, has led to one of the most jaw-dropping God experiences I've experienced in a long time.
The last time I had this feeling was when I offered boudoir photography (my absolute favorite season as a photographer).
As someone who grew up in the church (fun fact: my dad was & still is a Pastor), I was the last person anyone in my circle expected to offer boudoir.
But, I felt a special connection to it.
It felt like a calling.
And because I wasn't afraid to go all-in, it led to one of the most beautiful seasons of my life and career.
I look back on that season with so many fond memories because of the overwhelming impact it had on both me and my clients. During every session, I got to see my boudoir babes go from feeling unsure about themselves to bursting with confidence and having the most beautiful "That's me?!" reactions. It was so wholesome. So meaningful. So healing.
The comment I heard over and over again was, "You made me feel so safe."
Safe.
That is truly one of the biggest compliments you could ever give me.
And it's exactly why The Breakroom exists.
It's now been almost 4 weeks since we officially launched The Breakroom, and I cannot express to you how special this space is.
I don't know if we've ever received so much confirmation that we're doing the right thing. We've had new members join every. single. week. (One of them through an IG search!!!).
We've had 12 members join so far, and they're absolutely incredible. Creative, super smart, witty, and so generous with their knowledge.
This space is bigger than us. And that's the point.
We have big dreams for this space, and we want you to be a part of it.
Which brings me to our Black Friday/Cyber Monday offer...

As I (finally) wrap up this email, I'll leave you with this:
There’s a story in the book Three Feet From Gold, about a man named R.U. Darby whose uncle went mining for gold during the gold rush.
After a few weeks of mining he hit the jackpot and found tons of gold only to realize that he didn’t have the necessary tools to remove the rocks and dirt that were in the way. So he traveled back home to tell everyone about his discovery and persuade them to invest in the equipment needed to uncover it.
Once he’d raised the capital, Darby’s uncle went back to the scene of the shiny objects (this time taking Darby with him) and they started digging.
They were able to get some of the gold, test it, and confirm that it was indeed worth a lot of money. But then…the gold just stopped.
It seemed to disappear.
Feeling pretty defeated and discouraged that they’d invested tons of money into no ROI, they sold their equipment and went home.
But the story doesn’t end there.
The local they sold their equipment to consulted a mining expert to come out and survey the spot they’d been mining. He looked the spot over and then said, “There’s gold here alright. You just have to go the other direction.”
Turns out, they were only three feet away from gold.
But, they quit before the finish line.
Oof.
If you're currently questioning everything & feeling like your back is against the wall - don't quit. You might be three feet from gold. ✨
I'm so glad Lyndon and I didn't quit when times got tough.
I'm so darn grateful we went in a different direction.
If it wasn't for those tough moments, this space might not exist. But, because of them...it does.
And we'd love for you to be a part of it.
If you want to be a part of a safe space filled with other creative business owners, one where you not only get to learn what's working in the online space today, but where you also feel so connected and supported in your business...
The Breakroom is for you. We'd love to have you. 🫶🏼
