Hey Reader,
Do you want to be on our podcast? We're coming to the end of the first batch of people we scheduled as guests, and we're open to considering pitches if they're the right fit.
What makes a good fit you ask? Here's the two big things we're looking for:
- Can you educate on a specific topic that will help someone do one of the following a) find leads, b) sign clients, c) deliver a premium client experience, or d) manage their time & prevent burnout.
- Can you provide actionable advice to our podcast audience: female solopreneurs who are creative entrepreneurs (think photographers, web designers, copywriters, bookkeepers, systems pros, etc)
If you're interested in being considered as a guest hit reply with 2-3 podcast ideas & your favorite episode so far! (We'll also take suggestions for who you want to hear us interview)

The Messy Middle
Success in entrepreneurship isn't determined by intelligence, skill, work ethic, or resources, for most people it's just their ability to stay in the game long enough to succeed.
I first heard this idea on a podcast while I was doing research for one of my entrepreneurship classes in grad school. I bet I paused wondering why I was paying for a masters degree when the "experts" said it was more important to just put in the reps.
Jump forward, last week on a podcast about how a movie created, funded, & starred in by a YouTuber was #1 in the box office in America - a quote jumped out at me. He does things
"for the love of the game."
It closed one big loop in my brain. Games are supposed to be fun. If you see a kid having a terrible time playing games you know something's wrong... what if we viewed running our business the same way.
I'm starting to re-find my love of the game with the business were building right now.
It's not the business I left corporate for.
It's not the identity I chose when I graduated from grad school.
It's not even what we had in mind when we rebranded last year.
It looks shockingly similar to the two times when I was happiest in life: college & working at summer camp (where Jo & I met π).
Because we're building something together with people/community, I'm meeting new people every week, we're helping people solve real problems, and learning is part of the "game".
Are you playing a game you love or just a game that someone said you'd be good at?
This Week on the Podcast
We sat down with Becky Pierson Davidson to talk about how you can build a service based membership model & PHEW, we covered a lot (including how to build engagement, pricing models, and how to grow). π

Letβs get one of the biggest mental hurdles out of the way first. A common friction point is the belief that you need to have the identity of an educator or a community leader to have permission to have a membership.
We are here to tell you that you don't.
You do not need to be an educator to build a highly successful membership. However, you do need to be able to communicate.

This month we're chatting all things sales & one of our members shared this brilliant tip about organizing your DMs to keep track of leads! You'll have to take a peek in the online portal to see the screenshot example she shared (we definitely learned about some IG features we didn't know about)! ποΈπ
PS: we had a great masterclass on Sales Psychology this week, that you can catch the replay of inside of The Breakroom if you sign up for a trial.
Resource of the Week
This weekend F1 started their new season with their first race in Australia. Which means their's been a ton of cool F1 content (I don't actually watch any races, I found the business interesting tho):
- βAcquired did a 4.5 hour breakdown of the history and business model of F1
- Neflix dropped their latest season of Drive to Survive (aka reality tv docu series of globe trotting race car drivers)
- But the one I found most interesting was this quick video essay by Grant Rudow following the money of F1 (technically from 9 months ago).
β
It now has me questioning what it would look like to make one of these follow the money breakdowns for our own business?
If you've made it this far, how are you doing on your Q1 goals? Hit reply we'd love to help you still meet them!
Cheering you on always,
Lyndon
βPS, we started offering 7-day trials for our membership, The Breakroom! Click here to experience it for yourself (you'll be able to attend up to two Live calls and get immediate access to the online portal and replays of past masterclasses).
